Let me just cut to the chase, this week I've realized that maybe being a good person just never ever works out because people don't care if you're a good person, they will still be jerks.
So this week, a kid that I've recently befriended flipped out my friend and I because we were simply being girls and ranting on about things we hate. The kid that I befriended was a "nerd" or whatever people would label him... But I put all that "nerd" crap aside and made him my friend because we both enjoyed volleyball. People would call him names and basically put his whole being down, and I would stick up for him. I even kicked someone out of my lunch table for him to sit there.
The whole point is, when he flipped out on my friend and I, he told me that all I ever did was "put people down" and that I was "negative"... How dare he say that because I was always there for him when he was alone. I never put anyone down, I'm never negative. This basically pissed me off.
No matter how nice you are, people will never appreciate it, they'll always take it for granted. And when that one event happens when you're a bit out of your character and unkind, they're so quick to say that you're a bad person.
Being nice gets you NOWHERE...
Seriously! I befriended a girl during sophomore year, and I think I was being a good friend throughout the year, but she would always take advantage of my giving personality and then would rant to me of how she has no "real friends". I mean, does that make me a fake friend or something?
ReplyDeleteI feel yah aha. I'm not nice anymore only when I see how they react to things.
ReplyDeleteSome people change, sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad, but usually people stay the same, and unfortunately in this society its being a jerk lol.
